Tools We’re Using to Build “Next”

3 comments so far

To be able to build an application that we’re proud of in 2 days, we had to arm ourselves with the best available tools to help us deliver a great product in such a short timeline.

Those tools are:

Macs as our machines, duh!!!
Ruby on Rails as a development framework.
Textmate as a development environment “IDE”.
Git for version control.
iPhone SDK 2.0 and Xcode 3.1 for building the iPhone app.
Adobe Photoshop for graphics and design work.
Adobe Fireworks for image editing.
Coda for CSS work.
jQuery and Firefox+Firebug for UI and creating HTML.
Adobe Flex for creating the Adobe AIR app.
Scrivener for drafting the posts and ideas.
MarsEdit for blogging.
Wordpress for running the Zero2Beta blog.
Twitter for pushing updates.

Adobe Photoshop is simply the best photo editing tool on the market. I often use it a lot on my photo studio and also in webpage design :

We have a photo studio in our town and Adobe Photoshop is our primary software for photo editing. **
